The National Finals of the RBF Challenge: 4 October at Theater Marcellis at Emperors Palace - BE THERE!

Here is a list of bands that will be playing in the finals on 4 October: A great mixture of rock, pop, metal, English and Afrikaans as well as hip hop jazz and soul.

NORTHWEST WINNING BAND FROM KLERKSDORP

RBF Challenge attended the Klerksdorp Record Street Festival on Saturday 29 August 2009 where they staged a battle of the bands. RBFC were fortunate to be invited onto the judging panel and the winning band will now represent the Northwest Province in the RBF Challenge finals on 4 October 2009 at Theatre of Marcellus, Emperors Palace


RBF Challenge semi finlas and finals in WESTERN CAPE:

R.O.A.R in Observatory is the venue hosting the Cape Town.

The best band from this event will compete in the national finals taking place at Emperors Palace in Johannesburg on Sunday, October 4. The best band at the national finals wins themselves recording time at Radio Broadcast Facilities (RBF) the recording studios at the SABC plus R10 000 cash prize from Emperors Palace and musical equipment from Enhanced Media Systems (EMS).

The Cape Town leg of the RBF Challenge is run by Kerry-Lee Johnson on behalf of Emerging Sounds. Kerry can be contacted on 083 299 5885.

Dates and Bands:
The semi-finals will be on Friday 18th September and Friday 25th September, with the finals being held on Saturday 26th September.
Radio Broadcast Facilities (RBF) the recording studios at the SABC have been sponsoring recording time as prizes from the start of this event 13 years ago and more information about the recording studios can be found by clicking on the regional tabs above.

KZN leg of the RBF Challenge:

RBF Challenge is held on SATURDAY SEPTEMBER 26th from 17:00 at Vmacs Roadhouse, Pinetown. Popular Durban Cover-band GYPSY will entertain the crowd from 17:00 to 18:00 and then the competition will begin from 18:30 onwards and at the end GYPSY will continue to play until whenever.....

The best band from the KZN Finals will compete in the national finals taking place at Emperors Palace in Johannesburg on Sunday, October 4. RBF Challenge: Free State leg:

Colour Blind was the winning band in the Free State leg of the RBF Challenge on Saturday 15 August 2009. They will now play at the RBF Challenge finals on 4 October 2009 in Johannesburg.
